Tony Autridge wins Race of Champions 11! Awesome result for Tony, drove well all event with a win in the first race and consistent top 10 results in the remainder of the races.
Madison Down finished 2nd overall, Madison had good pace in all the events including a win in Race 3. But had some incidents along the way which hurt the points standing badly.
Josh Muggleton finished a strong 9th, but unfortunately the result didn’t match his pace. Incidents in a few races hurt him as well.

Although not as involved in the official V8 series anymore, Down is still a force to be reckoned with.
Nine-time iRacing.com V8 Supercars champion, Madison Down, knows full well that it’s never too cloudy to have a good race. With 274 career road-racing wins from 551 starts, Down is no stranger to victory lane. Indeed, even the overcast and gloomy conditions combined with the twists and turns of Virginia International Raceway did little to put a damper on the mood of Down and the other sim-racers as they arrived ready to race for Week 10 of the iRacing.com V8 Supercars Americas series.
The qualifying session proved to be a battle in itself as the top drivers found themselves in a fight to be on top once the smoke cleared. As expected, the young SDC Motorsports prodigy, Ethan Grigg-Gault, was found towards the front after it was all said and done. However, with only moments remaining in the 10 minute pre-race qualifying session, V8 Supercars Americas defending champion, Marlon McMullen, battled back and forth with Down as they consistently topped each other’s fastest time. In the end, it was McMullen who edged-out the seasoned veteran by an impossible .001s with a time of 1:45.801. With Down taking a close second, Grigg-Gault slotted into third as Down’s Trans-Tasman Racing (TT-R) teammate, Shaun Kelly, completed the second row ahead of former champion, Mitchell McLeod.
As the 23-lap online race got underway, the leaders wasted no time as they began a fierce battle for the lead which seemed to last for the duration of the event. Off the line, Grigg-Gault appeared to have gotten a better start and was able to get on the inside of Down and contest second position. Although Grigg-Gault initially made this happen by himself, he may or may not have been given a little boast in his effort from Down’s teammate, Kelly, who went into the Turn 1 Horseshoe too hot and collided with the nine-time champion.
Down was in command at Montreal – from pre-qualifying to finish.
The second round of the V8 Supercars Online Premier Series saw the drivers head into Canada for the first time at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Madison Down started strong topping pre-qualifying times and was looking good heading into the main race on Sunday night.
Down took off where he left off in pre-qualifying by grabbing the pole position with a blistering lap of 1:35.398 with championship rival Richard Hamstead moving up into second place in the final seconds of qualifying, just edging out Sam Sutton who showed a great turn of speed. George Maris and Shaun Kelly rounded out the top five starters for the main event.
When the lights went green it was Down taking an early lead he would not relinquish as he drove away with the victory in a dominating performance with the margin of victory almost eight seconds after the 45 lap race. Hamstead settled in behind Down early but could not mount any charge and had to settle for second place after a huge accident in his mirrors gave him some breathing room to third place. The driver of the day was Kurt Stenberg who won the second split in Round 1 and who made his way up onto the podium in the main race at Montreal fending-off Josh Muggleton for the majority of the last stint. Muggleton couldn’t get past Stenberg and settled into fourth place just ahead of Leigh Day who rounded out the top five.

The Oceanic Sim Racing (OSR) Bathurst 1000 powered by iRacing.com was a monumental step forward in the world of virtual racing. Boasting features such as driver-swaps, a digital replica of the Holden VF Commodore which Jamie Whincup piloted to the 2013 V8 Supercar Championship and 161 laps around an exact laser-scanned replica of Mount Panorama Circuit, the OSR Bathurst 1000 was the first of its kind in the world of sim-racing and it was all done for a great cause.
Making a difference
Proudly supporting the Kids with Cancer Foundation, the entry fee for the event was a $10 donation (minimum) with all proceeds going directly to help the youngest sufferers of childhood cancer from newborns to young teens. With 160 drivers representing seven different nations signing up, the donations came pouring in and over $2,900 was raised from this event alone.
Madison Down snatched the win away from teammate Josh Muggleton in the recent Race of Champions 8 by OSR. Josh Muggleton managed to win 3 out of 4 races but a horror last race for Muggleton in the unfavourable Ford GT handed the win to Down.
The format was an odd one. 4 tracks, 4 cars, however, the 4 cars could be used across which ever race you liked. So in a true GT3 field of racing, drivers were able to select the BMW GT3, RUF Track, McLaren MP4-12C GT3 or Ford GT in which ever order they liked. Madison selected the slowest car, the Ford GT, for the first race and qualified it 2nd and finished 4th. Muggleton however left the Ford GT until the end. Different strategies played out by both the top drivers but it was Down that in the end took the overall victory.
Madison Down wins championship number 9 after taking a commanding win in the final round at Oran Park Raceway! Madison took 11 pole positions and 9 wins on his way to the championship and looked untouchable all season long. To top it off Madison also achieved a record points score of 2230.

Sparks flew at The Glen as Down motored to his third straight win.
The iRacing.com V8 Supercar Series visited Watkins Glen in upstate New York this week to contest the third round of 2014 Season 1. Madison Down continued his strong early season form by securing his third pole position in as many attempts thus far this season with a time of 1:10.349. George Maris grabbed second on the grid while Josh Muggleton and Jarrad Filsell on Row Two. Rens Broekman would start from fifth alongside teammate Beau Cattell with Justin Ruggier and Leigh Ellis gridding just behind in seventh and eighth while TTL’s Richard Hamstead and Adrian Stratford completed the top ten qualifiers.
When the lights went green it was Down jumping to the lead from Maris while Hamstead got the best start among the front runners and gained a couple of spots before Turn One. However with a shallow entry and a little too much gas on the exit, his Falcon broke into a drift leaving Cattell nowhere to go, resulting in contact between the pair. Although they both continued, Cattell was destined to retire on Lap Four as the result of the first corner damage. At that, he lasted longer than Shaun Kelly, who became the first retirement when his engine blew-up on the entry to the Bus Stop on Lap Three.

The opening 10 laps saw the field break up into a number of battle packs, none more exciting than Muggleton being closely shadowed by an ANZ Motorsports train of Broekman, Ruggier, Filsell and TTR’s Ellis. On Lap Four Broekman made a move on Muggelton into Turn One to briefly gain third place, but Muggelton had the perfect reply with a move under Broekman exiting the corner to regain the spot. While this was happening Hamestead was continuing his charge forward, getting the move done on McLeod through Turns One and Two to move up to eighth . . . only for McLeod to repeat the same move on the very next lap to relegate Hamstead to ninth.
Another great battle had formed with the three Synergy Sim Racing Falcons of O’Brien, Ford and Bourke with McKnight, McMullen and U’Ren in the mix as well. Unfortunately McMullen’s night wasn’t to go to plan as he smote the Armco barrier coming out of the Esses in Lap Six, forcing him to the pit for damage repair. Two laps later McKnight became the second sim-racer to blow an engine, and leaving the SSR guys all hunting down U’Ren.
At the mid-point of the race it was still Down leading but pushing hard to stay ahead of Maris. As a result of the speed he was carrying, Down glanced-off the barrier and rode the ripple strips coming out of the Essess numerous times, causing a few anxious moments for the lead car. Lap 12 saw Hamstead finally get the move done on McLeod to secure eighth place and to start his charge for P7. A bit further down the pack Collins and Stratford made slight contact out of Turn One, followed by Collins putting his Falcon into a huge drift in the Esses, giving Stratford all the momentum heading into the Bus Stop to move up into P14.
That same lap saw a somewhat peculiar incident unfold between team mates McMullen and Stenberg. Neither was on the lead lap, but they were still fighting like cats and dogs over 19th and 20th when McMullen got into a massive slide exiting the Carousel and, subsequently, drilled Stenberg’s Powerbond Racing Falcon, forcing him out of the race entirely.

With the top nine cars thinning out towards the end of the race all eyes were on who would get the conveted 10th place. What ensued was a terrific battle between U’Ren and Ford that saw them swap position a number of times in the last few laps. The duel culminated in a fascinating last lap, where they swapped position twice before U’Ren snared the position on the penultimate corner of the online race.
After 23 laps no one could trouble Down as he came away with the perfect start to a season, taking his third win from as many starts. Maris faded a little towards the end but still managed to second second spot ahead of Downs’ TTR team mate Muggelton with Broekman leading the ANZ Motorsports train of Ruggier and Filsell home in 4th and Ellis gallantly holding-off Hamstead to finish in P7. McLeod grabbed ninth with U’Ren just holding-on to tenth. The SSR trio of Ford, Bourke and O’Brien finished in P11-P13 ahead of Stratford in 14th, with Schreyer and Vaughan following them home and Cox the last car on the lead lap in 18th.
